Butterfly Rhapsody

  In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state. The term is closely associated with the work of mathematician and meteorologist Edward Norton Lorenz.  What then is rhapsody? * A highly emotional utterance * A highly emotional literary work * Effusively rapturous or extravagant discourse * A (sometimes) musical composition of irregular form having an improvisatory character This will be my place, ne', my space, where I can let go of social constraints, and indulge in the truth of science, the peeling away of ignorance (which is, by all counts, not bliss), and the chance to shine light where darkness seeps in and envelops those who would otherwise lose their voice.
